Joshua Tree National Park is one of my favorite places to visit both personally and professionally. You can imagine my excitement when Megan and Taylor inquired with me and told me all about their plans to elope in Joshua Tree. From the first moment we spoke, I knew that their elopement was going to go down in history as one of my all time favorites.

Megan and Taylor had a day full of activities for both them and their family and friends who attended their celebration. To start things off, the couple and I made our way to Cap Rock where they did something that I wish all couples would consider; they took photos together on their wedding day at sunrise before they got into their wedding attire. This felt like such a perfect way to shake off the nerves while simultaneously building anticipation for the rest of the day’s events. We explored Cap Rock and all it had to offer while the sun made its way over the horizon.

After we finished up at Cap Rock, the couple met up with their guests for breakfast. I love that they included their loved ones throughout the day. When filling out their questionnaire, Megan and Taylor noted how special their people are to them and how they wanted to be sure to spend as much time with them as possible. After breakfast, Megan and Taylor made their way back to their Airbnb where they began getting ready for their first look and the rest of their day.

After the couple’s first look, it was time for their ceremony. One of their dear friends officiated as their host of close friends and family gathered around. The golden desert sun played showed up at the most perfect time, casting the most beautiful glow around the couple. After saying their vows and committing to one another, the couple took photos with their guests before dismissing everyone to dinner while they hung back for sunset couple’s portraits.

The lighting was so dreamy as Megan and Taylor explored Joshua Tree just a little bit more. We had the best time climbing on the rocks and strolling through the desert!

After couple’s portraits, Megan, Taylor and I made our way back to their Airbnb where they had a private chef serving dinner for them and their guests. The tables were decorated beautifully as Megan and Taylor’s guests greeted them with celebratory cheers as the couple arrived. Right before dinner was served, Taylor surprised Megan with a song that he had secretly been working on. It was such a sweet moment! The rest of the night was spent under the stars with their friends and family as the couple brought their amazing day in Joshua Tree to a close.

It’s no secret that Megan and Taylor’s day was incredible from start to finish. To have the honor of photographing such an intimate day was such an honor! I had the most amazing time exploring Joshua Tree with these two and their closest friends and family. Once again, Joshua Tree and the amazing couples that I get to work with, have left me in awe.
