Southern California + Desert Engagement Inspiration

When Brenda reached out to me to do her and her fiancé’s engagement photos, her vision was a classic Southern California, Joshua Tree, desert vibe without the drive, since they were coming from the Inland Empire. Luckily for the two of them, I knew just the place, nestled in one of my favorite spots: Wrightwood, California. After coordinating a date and time, we were ready to go for their amazing engagement session!

These two showed up on that gorgeous, sunny afternoon ready to play and looking like absolute perfection in the outfits they chose. Every prompt I gave them was met with giggling, flirty responses from Brenda that kept a smile on Calvin’s face the entire time. After showing off her beautiful engagement ring for a few photos, they wanted to recreate a few photos they had taken during their maternity session a couple years ago. Spoiler alert: it was the cutest thing ever!

To add a little flair to their session, they popped a bottle of champagne, giving it a little spray for some epic photos. After taking a few sips and sneaking some more kisses and cuddles, we headed to another close by spot for a sightly different vibe. We pulled on the side of this quiet desert road (although we definitely ducked and ran from a few cars who smiled and waved as they drove by) and I had Calvin and Brenda dance, run, twirl, and cuddle as the sun went down behind them. It was the perfect way to end this dreamy, summer session and will probably be one of my favorite sessions ever!
