Family session in Seal Beach, California

Before the Morrisons reached out about doing a family session somewhere in Southern California, I didn’t know that we had this gorgeous little plot of sand dunes right at our doorstep! As residents of the area, they suggested this awesome location for their lifestyle session and I was super stoked to work with this lovely little family and also get to shoot somewhere new and relatively close to me (by SoCal standards at least). As a Southern California photographer, I am always looking for new locations and this gem was absolutely perfect!

When the day for their family session arrived, it was a windy but still gorgeous fall day in Southern California. Their two boys came dressed adorably and ready for lots of play (I think I joked then that they reminded me of little puppies just running and playing together)! The golden light shone on us that evening for much of their session, lighting up the dunes around them and the water that was just beyond us. As the sun set deeper into the horizon, the boys—-still full of energy—-kept playing as Taylor and John watched on before having a little dogpile in the sand and seeing the moon rise above them. This was one of the most perfect family sessions ever and I am so excited to share these…enjoy!
