Orange County Family Newborn Session

Last year, one of our Southern California friends announced that they were expecting their third baby towards the end of fall. Not only were we super excited for them, but they asked if I could do a newborn session for them once he was born. The answer, of course, as a resounding “yes!”

As baby’s due date drew closer, we prepped a location in Orange County that made sense for them and also provided the kind of setting they were looking for: open, golden, fields. Once Jack finally made his arrival, I couldn’t wait to meet him and to document this new family of five.

When we arrived at the wilderness park in Orange County, they were all dressed in the most perfect fall colors. After walking along the trail and checking for rattlesnakes (this is a thing here in Southern California!), big sisters Dillon and Logan played with dad while Jack and mom watched from the sidelines. Once they were ready to relax a little bit, they all sat down on a blanket and admired little Jack, counted his fingers, and booped his nose.

After a bit, the older kiddos were eager to get up and keep playing so we moved to another spot in the park and got some more close up photos of Jack, of all the siblings together, and of course, of the whole family. I also couldn’t pass up the opportunity to grab a few photos of mom and dad because, as a parent myself, I know I always appreciate photos with my husband! By the end, Logan was covered in dirt and we were all cracking up at her antics and admiring her free spirit (gotta love toddlers, right?!).

As the sun set behind the mountain and all of the kiddos started to get tired and hungry, we set back towards our cars and said our goodbyes. I absolutely loved being able to capture this special time for the Crumly Family and their newest member, Jack.
