Cory and Zach’s Joshua Tree National Park elopement was such an honor to capture! There’s just something so incredible about exploring the vastness of the desert, especially when that desert just so happens to be Joshua Tree and all that it encompasses. One of the best things about eloping in the desert, especially at sunrise, is that you can typically expect fewer crowds and more space for you and your partner to explore. You can usually anticipate privacy as you say your vows and roam around the desert, hand in hand.
For Cory and Zach, the couple opted for a sunrise adventure at Cap Rock alongside their sweet pup, Smokey. The two sported the coolest suits, complete with an elegant floral design. When asked why they chose Joshua Tree as their elopement location, the couple answered, “We love the peaceful beauty and majesty of Joshua Tree, the unique landscape, and amazing light.” As avid travelers, hikers, and all around adventurers, Cory and Zach knew that Joshua Tree was the perfect place to say their vows.
After the sunrise portion of the day, we met up later again that afternoon, and Zach and Cory got ready for their first look. We originally had plans for them to have their ceremony in the backyard but we decided to utilize a local park nearby instead. Their friend, Dylan, officiated their sweet ceremony and then we spent the rest of the afternoon hiking around the park. After that, we headed back to their Airbnb for some champagne while their friends cooked them dinner!
Cory and Zach’s elopement in Joshua Tree National Park was incredible from start to finish. Because the couple chose to elope, they were able to take the day slow, avoid any pressure from others, and simply spend the start of their marriage adventuring with the sweetest sidekick named Smokey. I was honored to document this time for Cory and Zach and wish them all the best!
